Employee Spotlight: Lauri Hayes

Hi, I have 2 handsome sons, Darrel (32) and Daunte (29), and 1 beautiful granddaughter, Kylee (2). I have 3 cats, Tango, Jaxsyn, and Scrump. My life is centered around family. When I am not enjoying my workdays with all of my wonderful co-workers, I am either just relaxing with the kitties or helping my elderly mom with anything she needs, or enjoying time with my sons and/or Kylee.

I have been with CSS for 10+ years and counting. I learned about the position from another CSS associate, Sherry Lane. I really love the family-like atmosphere at CSS and the open-door policy with the management team. I love sharing the knowledge that I have learned over the years with the rest of the team and continuing to learn new things every single day.

I am fascinated by airplanes which started at a young age when my dad used to take all of us kids (8 including myself) on a road trips and park near Cleveland Hopkins Airport to watch the planes take off and land. This was way before that kind of activity was considered a national security risk (1970’s). My fascination sent me on a trip to Dayton, OH to visit the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in 2011. The museum is huge (1,120,000 sq ft) with amazing displays of old military airplanes used throughout the years, some displays have video setup so you can watch them in action while other displays are set up for you to walk through. We were also able to visit the exhibit they have in a separate facility that showcases some prior Air Force One planes that prior presidents of the U.S. used during their term. The exhibit that touched me the most is their amazing holocaust exhibit that I spent quite a bit of time at just being present and somber in honor of those that lost their lives and those that miraculously survived such a horrid experience.

I am thankful for every day that I have wonderful family and friends and that I am able to live my life peacefully with love and joy in my heart.
