Employee Spotlight: Heather Reller

My name is Heather, I joined CSS in April of 2013.  I first learned about CSS from a former colleague of mine at Old Republic Title in Akron, she reached out to me to say they were looking for an operations manager and suggested I apply for it!   Needless to say, it went well, and I have enjoyed many years of personal and professional evolution with my CSS family!

I love being able to lead and mentor my team and help make their jobs easier and as much fun as possible.

One of my favorite projects has been joining in on the DEI committee, it has been so rewarding to learn things and share with others.  Ignorance leads to fear which can lead to hate and I am a strong advocate for diversity/inclusion and educating myself and others about anything or anyone that many be ‘different’ than me, I feel it makes me a better person overall.

My husband, Mathew, and I have been together since 2005 and we have one daughter (Deborah) who is 12.  We enjoy puttering around in our gardens, playing various electronic and board games, going to the stables to play with and ride the horses and watching movies together.  Our daughter made the Jr High volleyball team in August, so life just got a lot busier!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If I could eat one meal for the rest of my life it would be sashimi/sushi, I love Japanese food in general!

What are the three words that best describe you?

I asked others to give me three words to describe me:  Funny, Caring, Unique.   I would use these also:  Stubborn, Loyal, Loud (let’s just say I will never be known as a woman who kept her mouth shut) LOL

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you:

Three things that people may not know about me:

  1. I did makeup artistry for fashion shows and plays in Columbus, Ohio in the 90’s.
  2. I went door to door in the Columbus, Ohio market, to talk with folks about the benefits of smoke free environments and gathered hundreds of signatures back in the early 2000’s to get the measure on the ballot to ban smoking inside of all public places in Ohio.  This state issue was passed by voters in 2006.
  3. I can mimic most anyone’s accent and animal noises.

We created a wildflower garden to help the bees and attract butterflies this summer of 2022, it has been so rewarding to watch it and help it grow!
