Deb and Maura attended the MLTA summer virtual convention. Maura serves on the Board of Directors and is also Chair of the Professional Designation Committee (PDC). Deb serves on the Education Committee and also on the PDC committee. Both Deb and Maura hold the designation of CLTP (Certified Land Title Professional) on the State level and NTP (National Title Professional) on the national level.
Debbie:
The PDC recently revised their guidelines to allow service on the MLTA committees and events to count more towards the points needed to obtain the CLTP designation. This Designation represents the highest measure of achievement in the land title insurance profession. After obtaining your CLTP at the State level, Designees have the option of earning the NTP designation at the national level with the ALTA. Deb B recently met with Cindy Immonen and John Kendall from FNF to accept the Circle of Excellence Award on behalf of CSS.
Maura:
An update from the MLTA lobbyist on the legislative matters that affect the real estate and title industry. Nothing earth-shattering other than the legislature and the governor do not get along well; Maura is on a legislative sub-committee working on legislation to make terminating a manufactured home title easier. Motivational speaker on having an attitude of gratitude rather than complaining. Deb B challenged her teams to try 21 days of no complaining. Darryl Turner gave a presentation on the best sales tactics in the title industry. Remember: we ALL are salespersons even if that isn’t our title.
